FAQ
Q. How much an approximate diamond purchase will cost?
The worth of beautiful diamonds is priceless. However, purchasing diamonds is a real time expensive investment. It totally depends upon your budget and the kind of diamond accessory you are looking forward to gift a loved one. An approximate diamond purchase can be equal to 2 month’s income of a moderately earning worker. However, this cost may vary from person to person depending upon its level of earnings.
Q. What is the factor that adds to the beauty of a diamond?
Diamond brilliance is all that counts when talking about the beauty of diamonds. It is a combination of symmetrical cutting, shaping and high quality polishing of every diamond facet that combines together to contribute to the bright white reflection of these precious stones. The bright shine reflected from diamonds makes your eyes wide open, and results in impulsive admiration of its beauty.
Q. How legitimate is a diamond purchase over the internet?
Diamond purchase is 100% legitimate if you place your order at fancydiamondgroup.com. This diamond selling website ensures safe delivery of your precious order without leaking your personal data to remote areas of the internet. Hence, this makes your e-shopping a pleasant experience.
Q. When is the procedure to check the current status of your order?
All the details of the current status of your certified as well as non-certified diamonds order can be retrieved under the tab of ‘Order Summary’on the top of the page. Make sure you are already logged in to your member account.
Q. How are diamonds priced and graded under the 4C’s concept?
4C’s is a universal grading system of diamonds that refer to 4 glossary terms i.e. cut, color, and clarity and carat weight. Cut refers to the diamond brilliance. Color is the presence/absence of color contents in a diamond (the more opaque a diamond, the lesser will be its monetary value, and vice versa). The greater number of blemishes on a diamond surface means a greater clarity. Lastly, as evident by its name carat weight is the actual weight of the diamond.
Q. How to clean a diamond and keep its brilliance intact?
Diamond is an extremely durable gemstone, but it doesn’t mean that you do all the rough household work wearing those magnificent diamond jewelry sets. To keep the brilliance of the diamond intact it is important to avoid wearing it during household chores especially when you plan to clean your house with chlorine bleach. Cleaning diamonds is a sensitive task; hence only use lukewarm water with any mild liquid cleaner to dip in the gemstones. You can rub the diamond with a brush having soft bristles to avoid bruises on the diamond surface. Also make sure to use a lint-free cloth to dry the diamonds.
Q. Does fancydiamondgroup.com share an individual’s personal database with any third party?
At fancydiamondgroup.com the privacy of a user’s personal information is a top notch priority. However, the only information used is the one required to dispatch the order to our shipping courier service i.e. your name, contact, shipping address and product number.
Q. Does the original quality of diamonds match with the one claimed in the product description?
Our product descriptions include the grading report of every diamond accessory. You can always have a quality-check by comparing that report to the one you ordered.
About Diamond
Q. What are Conflict Diamonds, Blood Diamonds, and how can I be sure you don't sell them?
Conflict diamonds, sometimes called blood diamonds, are diamonds sold by rebel and terrorist groups most prevalent in central and West African nations. FancyDiamondGroup is a proud believer in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), and can guarantee that the company only deals with 100% conflict-free diamonds.
Q. What are Blood Diamonds?
Conflict diamonds, sometimes called blood diamonds, are diamonds sold by rebel and terrorist groups to fund armed conflicts and rebellions against legitimate governments. During the last 15 years, the illicit trade of blood diamonds has been most prevalent in central and West African nations, and affected mainly Sierra Leone, Angola, Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Ivory Coast. In all of these countries, citizens have been terrorized, and many times killed, by groups in control of the local diamond trade. Human rights organizations link no less than four million deaths to the trade in conflict diamonds.
International Cooperation the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme
The international diamond industry is eager to assure consumers they can buy a diamond knowing its history is untainted by bloodshed. In 2000, the South African countries known to have legitimate diamond trade began a campaign to track the origins of all rough diamonds. This campaign eventually resulted in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), an international effort to eliminate the trade of conflict diamonds. This agreement involves dozens of governmental and non-governmental agencies, representing all the major countries who have agreed to prevent the trade of diamonds that are being used to fund violent actions in Africa. These days, most reputable jewellers & Merchants provide Kimberley Process certificates to prove the diamonds they sell are conflict-free. However, many countries haven’t committed to the program and additional measures must be taken in order to eliminate completely, or at least minimize, the trade of these diamonds.
Q. How to Avoid Buying Blood Diamonds?
There is no quality difference between legitimate and conflict diamonds. They cannot be differentiated once the stones are cut and polished. So the question remains – how can you avoid purchasing conflict diamonds and inadvertently supporting the continuation of brutal oppression? First of all, always purchase diamonds from a reputable jeweller & merchant. Be sure to ask where the diamonds came from and ask to see the diamond’s certificate that details specific information about the stone. Be suspicious about unusually low prices, and try to avoid purchasing diamonds from countries that neighbour known diamond smuggling states. Demanding to know that the diamonds are conflict-free sends a strong consumer message that you will not support an industry that is funding violence against the population and against legitimate governments.
Legitimate Diamonds Political and Ethical Benefits
There are strong moral and political reasons to avoid buying blood diamonds. Diamond communities in Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo, for instance, are not currently benefiting from the sale of diamonds. Helping those governments build a respectable diamond trade will contribute to their countries’ economic growth and to the quality of life of their citizens. Conflict diamonds damage this process and lead to violence and suppression of basic human rights and freedoms.
A conflict diamond symbolizes hatred and oppression. Avoid purchasing blood diamonds and be sure you are buying a conflict-free precious-gem. You will find it easy, and most importantly, ethical.
